BY Training
BY (Build Yourself) courses provide hands-on training in safety, construction math, tools, drawings, rigging, and communication. In 8-9 weeks, graduates earn NCCER Core and OSHA 10 certifications. The program culminates in a job fair with hiring construction employers. Courses are offered in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility for all participants.

BY Plus
BY Plus extends the BY 8-9 week course with paid, hands-on experience at Home Repairs for Good sites. Students receive extra support from ICRF staff and local community centers to ensure their success.

BY Roads
BY Roads classes teaches skills needed to work for highway and road construction companies. Graduates earn four industry certifications: NCCER Core, OSHA 10, McAllister/CAT Skid Steer Operation, and ATSSA Flagger over a 9-10 week class.

BY Bootcamp
BY Bootcamp is the fast-track option of the traditional BY course. Over a 3 to 4- week time frame students get the same BY Curriculum with the addition of paid, hands-on work experience at work sites managed by Home Repairs for Good. Students receive further support from the ICRF staff and local community centers in order to be successful throughout the program.

Who's Eligible

STUDENTS MUST

    Be age 18 or older

    Be eligible to work in the U.S.

    Be able to lift 50 lbs.

    Have reliable transportation

    Consent to a criminal background check

For BY Plus, students must also live in Marion County.

For BY Roads, students also must have a valid driver’s license.

ALL BY classes are free for all students.
