Which program is right for you?

With a mix of classroom and hands-on learning, students get training in basic safety, construction math, hand and power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging, and communication skills. Each class is guided by an instructor and a BY navigator, who work to help students achieve success.
Graduates earn two industry certifications and are connected with local employers in the community. The last day of class is always a job fair with construction industry employers who are hiring. Our goal is to place 100% of our graduates.
Schedule: 9 weeks (18 total sessions) / Classes typically meet 2 times a week.

Class Features: Hiring Fair & Employer Visits
The coursework, job fair opportunity, and certifications for BY Plus are the same as traditional BY Construction Training, but BY Plus students also have the chance to engage in paid, hands-on work experience at work sites managed by Home Repairs for Good.
BY Plus students can also get help with things that might prevent them from completing the course or starting a new job. We connect students to free legal counseling provided by the Indianapolis Legal Aid Society, as well as community centers and other partners to help with financial coaching, transportation assistance, childcare, and more.

Class Features: Hiring Fair, Employer Visits, Legal Counseling & Optional Work Experience
The 3-4 week intensive training provides students the opportunity to obtain the same certifications as the traditional BY Construction Training, in a shorter time frame. Students engage in the same coursework, job fair connections, and certification opportunities, with the added bonus of potentially participating in a paid, hands-on work experience. These work sites are located throughout Indianapolis and managed by Home Repairs for Good.
BY Bootcamp students can also get connected to resources for challenges that might prevent them from completing the course or starting a new job. We connect students to free legal counseling provided by the Indianapolis Legal Aid Society, as well as community centers and other partners to help with financial coaching, transportation assistance, childcare, and more.
Graduates earn two (2) industry certifications. Construction industry employers visit classes and share information. Towards the end of class, students are invited to attend a private job fair with construction industry employers who are hiring and supportive services to promote community growth.
NOTE: BY Bootcamp students must live in Marion County.
Schedule: 3-4 weeks (15-20 total sessions) / Classes meet Monday through Friday

Class Features: Hiring Fair, Employer Visits, Legal Counseling & Optional Work Experience

With a mix of classroom and onsite hands-on learning, students learn: Highway Construction Safety, Hand and Power Tools, Heavy Equipment Identification, Skid Steer Machine Operation, Construction Math, Communications, and more.
Construction industry employers visit classes and share information. The last day of class is always a job fair with construction industry employers who are hiring.
NOTE: BY Roads students must have valid driver’s licenses.
Schedule: 9-10 weeks (27-30 total sessions) / Classes typically meet 3 times a week.

- ATSSA Flagger

STUDENTS MUST

Be eligible to work in the U.S.
Be able to lift 50 lbs.
Have reliable transportation
Consent to a criminal background check
For BY Plus, students must also live in Marion County.
For BY Roads, students also must have a valid driver’s license.
