Once you get a foot in the door and start working in the construction industry, the possibilities for advancement are varied and almost endless.
Bruce Molter
BY (Build Yourself) courses teach basic safety, construction math, hand and power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging and communication skills. Graduates earn at least two industry certifications: NCCER Core and OSHA 10 over 8-9 weeks of class. The last day of class is a job fair with construction industry employers who are hiring.
BY Plus
BY Plus is an extension of the BY course with the addition of paid, hands-on work experience at work sites managed by NeighborLink Indianapolis. Students receive further support from the ICRF staff and local community centers in order to be successful throughout the program.
BY Roads
BY Roads classes teaches skills needed to work for highway and road construction companies. Graduates earn four industry certifications: NCCER Core, OSHA 10, McAllister/CAT Skid Steer Operation, and ATSSA Flagger over a 9-10 week class.

Students must:
Be age 18 or older
Be eligible to work in the U.S.
Be able to lift 50 lbs.
Have reliable transportation
Consent to a criminal background check
For BY Plus, students must also live in Marion County.
For BY Roads, students also must have a valid driver’s license.
