For Students Enrolled in Adult Education Programs: BY Online Construction Training will train students to be prepared for jobs in the construction industry. Students that complete the self-paced online class and in-person performance profiles will earn nationally-recognized NCCER Core and OSHA-10 certifications and be introduced to construction companies with open positions.

Description
Students will be taught in a self-paced online learning environment, using Google Classroom, NCCERconnect, and GoToMeeting.
In order to successfully participate in and complete class, students must consistent and reliable access to:
- A computer or tablet device with video camera;
- Internet access;
- A telephone; and
- An email account.
Throughout the class, students will receive:
- A live online orientation that provides instructions on using required technology (GotoMeeting, NCCERconnect, Google Classroom, etc.)
- OSHA-10 Certification through 10 hours of recorded lectures and activities;
- NCCER Core Certification, with learning modules in basic safety, construction math, hand tools, power tools, construction drawings, communications, employability skills, and material handling, through a combination of self-paced recordings, activities, practice exams, and online proctored exams;
- Opportunity to receive tutoring from adult education professionals in mathematics and English language skills;
- Weekly live online question and answer sessions with the instructor through virtual office hours;
- In-person performance verifications following completion on online portions of training program; and
- Virtual job fairs and job placement assistance with construction firms that have available job openings.
Prerequisites
Students must be referred by participating adult education provider.
